Flex Your Field Service Scheduling with Ad Hoc Shifts (Beta)

With shifts, you can break out of rigid work hours. Define shifts that vary from the usual schedule, such as holiday hours or occasional overtime. Or, to schedule contractors who don’t have consistent work hours, you can create shifts for the dates and times when they’re available.
Where: This feature applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions. For scheduling and Enhanced Optimization to use shift availability, the managed package is required. Log a request with Salesforce Support to enable shift management.

Why: Use shifts, work hours, or both to schedule work when you need it. You can categorize shifts with job profiles so that you can match resources with the right skills to your shifts.

How: From the App Manager, select Shifts and create a shift with a time frame, an optional service territory, and an optional job profile.

When you verify a worker’s availability, set the shift status to Confirmed. If the managed package is installed, availability for confirmed shifts appears on the Gantt and is used in scheduling and Enhanced Optimization. The Shifts tab groups shifts by job profile.
