Get the Complete Picture About Your Activity Data with Activity Metrics (Beta)

When you include Activity Metrics fields on reports, triggers, list views, page layouts, and so forth, the data reflects activities that were added to Salesforce manually and by Einstein Activity Capture.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions. Users can also see Activity Metrics if they switch back to Salesforce Classic.

Note

As a beta feature, Activity Metrics is a preview and isn’t part of the “Services” under your master subscription agreement with Salesforce. Use this feature at your sole discretion, and make your purchase decisions only on the basis of generally available products and features. Salesforce doesn’t guarantee general availability of this feature within any particular time frame or at all, and we can discontinue it at any time. This feature is for evaluation purposes only, not for production use. It’s offered as is and isn’t supported, and Salesforce has no liability for any harm or damage arising out of or in connection with it. You can provide feedback and suggestions for Activity Metrics in the Trailblazer Community.

Who: If you have at least one licensed Einstein Activity Capture user, you can use Activity Metrics.

Why: Because Einstein Activity Capture data is stored outside of Salesforce, it isn’t available in many Salesforce platform capabilities, such as reports and triggers. With Activity Metrics, you can trust that activity data is complete without manually maintaining it.

How: From the Einstein Activity Capture settings, turn on Activity Metrics. Depending on how much data you have, it can take a few hours before the Activity Metrics fields are ready to use. We send a notification when they’re available.

For example, the Last 7 Days Activities field indicates how many activities were completed in the last seven days. Use a trigger to send an email to opportunity owners if there hasn’t been any completed activities over the last seven days.
