Use Sharing Sets with Contacts with Multiple Accounts (Generally Available)

Simplify record access by using existing account contact relationships. Let’s say you create a community or portal user from a contact that is associated with multiple accounts. You can then create a sharing set that grants access to all records with a lookup to any accounts related to that contact.

Where: This change applies to all communities accessed through Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Who: Users with the following licenses or their login equivalents can use sharing sets.
  • Customer Community
  • Customer Community Plus
  • Partner Community
  • Lightning External Apps
  • Lightning External Apps Plus

How: In Setup, enter Communities Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Communities Settings. In the Sharing Sets related list, click New. Under Configure Access, set up the access mapping. For the user, select Contact.RelatedAccount, and for the target object, select Account.
