Reminder About Functionality Loss for Earlier Versions
When Microsoft® retired Internet Explorer® 8, 9, and 10, Salesforce
for Outlook stopped supporting those browsers. As a result, earlier Salesforce for Outlook
versions built to run on those browsers lost some side panel functionality. Remember that to
continue working with Salesforce for Outlook, orgs with regular users can upgrade to Salesforce
for Outlook v3.4.3, which runs on the still-supported Internet Explorer 11. Or better yet, take
this opportunity to give users enhanced functionality and effortless upgrades by moving to our
next-generation features, Outlook Integration (previously called Lightning for Outlook) and
Lightning Sync.
Where: This change applies to Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience in Group, Contact Manager, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
How: Your users see a message in the side panel to alert them that they’re working on an outdated version of Salesforce for Outlook. The message encourages users to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 to avoid unexpected behavior.
