Generate Subscriptions Without End Dates

Salesforce CPQ users can now create contracts with subscriptions that don’t have end dates, and therefore, don’t need to be renewed. Evergreen subscriptions allow customers to receive services indefinitely until their contract subscriptions are canceled.

Where: This change applies to Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience in all Salesforce CPQ editions.

Who: Evergreen subscriptions are available for Salesforce CPQ users.

How: To enable evergreen subscriptions, you must first Configure Salesforce CPQ Package Settings.

Navigate to Subscriptions and Renewals and then select Enable Evergreen Subscriptions. Save your changes.

If you are an existing Salesforce CPQ user, manually add the new picklist values to the Subscription Type field on the product:
  • Evergreen
  • Renewable/Evergreen

The picklist values are automatically added to the Subscription Type field for new Salesforce CPQ users.

To add the evergreen checkbox to your contract page layout, find the page layout for contracts.
  • If you’re using Lightning Experience, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Object Manager, and then select Object Manager. Next, click Contract, and then scroll to the Page Layouts section.
  • If you’re using Salesforce Classic, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Contract, and then select Page Layouts.
Next to CPQ Contract Layout, click Edit. From the top panel, enter Evergreeninto the Quick Find box. Drag the field to an empty section, then save your changes.
