Report and Dashboard Folder Enhancements

Sometimes little things can make a big difference. That’s why we added some bite-sized enhancements to improve your experience with report and dashboard folders.

Where: These changes apply to Lightning Experience in Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Who: These changes apply to all folders you have access to.

Why: When you’re working with folders, it saves time and clicks if you can perform actions without having to move around.

Folder level actions are now available from inside any folder that you’ve created or that’s been shared with you. You don’t have to navigate up a level anymore to share, rename, favorite, or delete a folder.

If you’re saving or moving a report or dashboard, there’s no need to jump away from your current activity to create the new folder. You can now create a folder in the folder selection screen.

Finally, we’ve added more folder share types. Territories and subordinates are now available as folder share types.

How:

To access the new folder level actions,

  1. Navigate to a report or dashboard folder that you’ve created or that has been shared with you.
  2. Click the arrow to the right of the New Folder button and select an action for the current folder.

To create a new folder while you’re saving or moving a report or dashboard,

  1. Click New Folder in the selection screen.
  2. Name and save the new folder. The screen reopens with the folder created and selected.

To specify territories or territories and subordinates for folder sharing, select one of the options in the Share folder screen.
