Order Fields Pre-Populated in Lightning

The Create Order action in Lightning now pre-populates default order header fields. This feature streamlines manual order creation in Lightning, reducing manual data entry and ensuring data accuracy.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in all Salesforce CPQ editions.

How: Check that My Domain is enabled. The process to add the button to your page layout is the same for your opportunity and quote. To add the Lightning Action to your page layout, have your admin follow these steps. For example, to add the action to your opportunity page, find the page layout for Opportunity. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Object Manager, and then select Object Manager.

Next, click Opportunity, and then scroll to the Page Layouts section. Next to CPQ Order Layout, click Edit. Navigate to Mobile & Lightning Actions and enter Create Order into the Quick Find box.

There are two Create Order buttons, one for Salesforce Classic and one for Lightning Experience. Hover over the button to see the name. Make sure to select the button with the name Opportunity.CreateOrderLightning or Quote.CreateOrderLightning.

Drag the action to an empty section under Lightning Experience Actions, then save your changes.
