Get Your Scratch Orgs in Shape (Pilot)

In Winter ’18, Salesforce DX is introducing a pilot to bring a production org’s “shape” into a scratch org. Do you ever wonder which features and preferences to specify in the scratch org definition file? Or wish a scratch org could magically be created with the features, limits, and preferences of your production org? This feature allows you to quickly create scratch orgs with the shape of another org.

We provide the Salesforce DX Org Shape feature to selected customers through a pilot program that requires agreement to specific terms and conditions. The Org Shape feature is subject to change and isn’t generally available unless or until Salesforce announces its general availability in documentation or in press releases or public statements. We can’t guarantee general availability within any particular time frame or at all. Make your purchase decisions only on the basis of generally available products and features. All commands, parameters, and other features are subject to change or deprecation at any time, with or without notice. Don't implement functionality developed with these commands or tools.

This pilot is ideal for customers who are actively using Salesforce DX and are willing to provide us constructive feedback. We plan to roll out this feature to a small set of customers and expand the audience over time.
