Article URLs No Longer Include the Record ID

To improve your community’s SEO ranking, the record ID is no longer included in article URLs. Each time an article is republished, its record ID is also updated. By previously including the record ID in the URL, a new URL was created for the existing article whenever it was updated. To search engines, it appeared to be a new page each time, which hurt SEO ranking.

Article URLs used to redirect to /article/:recordId/:urlName, but we now use the format /article/:urlName.

For example, https://mycommunity.com/s/article/kavB0000007qtP7KAI/some_article redirects to https://mycommunity.com/s/article/some_article.
