Renamed Permissions for Content Deliveries Public Link Creation

We’ve updated the names of two user permissions for clarity. The user permission Create Content Deliveries was formerly named “Deliver Uploaded Files and Personal Content”. The user permission Create Public Links was formerly named “Create and Share Content Deliveries for Salesforce Files”. Content Deliveries are available in Salesforce Classic. Public Links are available in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.

Content deliveries and public links convert files into an online format that’s available via a link. The link can be sent to people inside or outside your org. Content deliveries also provide security and tracking features.

If you aren’t already taking advantage of these file-sharing tools, it’s easy to get started. First, enable content deliveries and public links for your org. Search the Setup menu for “Content Deliveries and Public Links”. Select Content Deliveries feature can be enabled for users to enable content deliveries. Enable public links with Public Links can be enabled for users (Requires Content Deliveries).

Content Deliveries and Public Links perms

Search System Permissions for “Content Deliveries” and “Public Links” to enable the user permissions on profiles or in permission sets.

Note

Note

Files within libraries are governed by settings within the library, so they require an extra setting in addition to the user permissions. To let a user share files managed by a library, enable Deliver Content for that user in the library.
