Choose When to Bypass the Preserve Bundle Structure Requirement on Amendments

Now your sales reps can create amendments without using the original contract’s product bundle structure. The new Bypass Preserve Bundle Structure setting removes the requirement to keep the original bundle structure. Your bundle products become individual quote lines on the amendment quote.

Where: This change applies to Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience in all Salesforce CPQ editions.

Why: This setting offers greater flexibility when you create amendments. But we recommend that you continue to use the Preserve Bundle Structure setting whenever possible. Bypassing the preserve bundle structure requirement can introduce unexpected price changes or unforeseen product and price rule behavior changes.

Before you introduce the bypass setting, make sure to thoroughly test your product rules, price rules, and transactions.

How: In Salesforce CPQ Subscriptions and Renewals settings, select Bypass Preserve Bundle Structure.
