Change the Page Location of Prompts

Save time and ensure that prompts appear on the right page for users. If you have a prompt that applies to multiple objects, clone the prompt and move it to a different page. Have an existing prompt that you want to move to a different page? Choose a new page for previously saved prompts.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Why: For prompts about common features, such as list views, favorites, or the Help Menu, replicate the same information across multiple pages. Instead of copying and pasting content, simply clone an existing prompt and change the location.

Although you can change the location of prompts while editing and cloning, you still can’t directly edit the location of prompts installed from packages. You can clone prompts from packages and change the location that way, however.

The ability to change the location also applies to walkthroughs, which are new in the Summer ’20 release.

How: From Setup in Lightning Experience, enter In-App Guidance in the Quick Find box, and then select In-App Guidance. Select Edit or Clone from the row-level action menu. The In-App Guidance Builder opens in a new tab. Navigate to the new location inside the builder. Click Save, then Done.
