Increase Engagement with Life Sciences Program Management

Maximize the impact of your life sciences programs with new enrollment and management tools to help drive patient adherence and improve outcomes. Use this new data model to define programs and manage relationships and activities within them. We've also included a new Communities component that you can deploy to show the programs a person is enrolled in.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic, and all versions of the Salesforce app in Professional, Performance, and Unlimited editions where Health Cloud is enabled.

Why: A program is any ongoing, organized activity that patients or members can enroll or be enrolled in; for example, a diet and nutrition class, a clinical trial, or an employer-sponsored wellness program.

  • For care providers, programs can help encourage patients to stick with care plans and seek treatment more quickly. A patient’s program enrollments can be shown in their patient card, care plan, and timeline.
  • For payers, programs can help reduce costs by aggregating members with similar characteristics, such as shared workplaces or conditions.
  • For life sciences organizations, programs can help support adherence to therapies and trials, leading to better outcomes.

When: The care program data model features are made available through the new Health Cloud Foundation permission set license. This permission set license is provisioned to all Health Cloud customers, based on their contracts, after the Summer ’19 production release upgrade. After the features are available in production orgs, you can replicate a new sandbox org and have access to the functionality.

How: To access the objects, you must have the Health Cloud license provisioned in your org. Then, assign the Health Cloud and the Health Cloud Platform permission set licenses to your users.
