Quickly create and manage service crews using the crew management tool, which was previously in beta. Use the new service crew wizard to create a crew, and find the right crew members for the job with smarter search results. Search now considers resources’ operating hours and availability in addition to their skills. -
See Further into the Future on the Gantt
View up to six months of your team’s schedule on the Gantt with the new long-term view. Choose how many months to display, highlight weekends to aid scanning, and apply a multiday appointment filter. Keep things tidy by showing only appointments and absences over a certain length. We’re also introducing a two-week view for mid-range planning. -
Work Faster in the Dispatcher Console Map
Make the most of your screen real estate by popping out the map and dragging it anywhere in the dispatcher console. Schedule a service appointment by dragging it from the map onto a service resource’s schedule in the Gantt. View custom Gantt icons and color palettes on the map, and cluster map markers to make scanning easier. -
Set Scheduling Limits for Different Types of Work
To control the amount of time that your team spends on different types of work, set scheduling capacity limits according to work type. For example, ensure that repair work occupies no more than half of your team’s weekly scheduled hours. You can also specify a date range and service territory for each limit you create. -
Monitor Optimization Requests from the Dispatcher Console
Monitor open optimization requests in real time without leaving the dispatcher console. The optimization requests panel now shows a percentage-based progress bar for each request in addition to its status and includes an option to cancel the request. You can still view details about a request from the Optimization Requests custom object tab. -
Select a Scheduling Policy When Booking Appointments
Enjoy greater scheduling flexibility by choosing a scheduling policy directly from the Book Appointment and Candidates Chatter actions. -
Automatically Create Time Sheets for your Service Resources (Beta)
Automate the process of creating time sheets with templates. Set the frequency, start date, and time range covered. After you assign the template to a user profile, Salesforce automatically creates time sheets for those service resources. Users can view and edit their time sheets on the Salesforce app, on their desktop, or in a flow. -
Sort Related Lists in Service Reports
Order records in a service report’s related lists by any number or date field. For example, order the records in the Work Order Line Items related list from earliest to latest completion date. -

We answered your request: community users no longer have default create, read, edit, or delete access for certain Field Service Lightning objects. Admins must manually provide access to these objects for new community users. -
Ignore the Asset Resource Type When You Create a Service Resource
When you create a service resource, Field Service Lightning users can see Asset as an option for the Resource Type field. However, you can save the record with a Resource Type of Asset only when your org has access to Lightning Scheduler.
