Other Enhancements to Dashboards in Lightning Experience
In addition to this release’s major features, we’ve made some
small-but-notable improvements to dashboards.
These changes apply to Lightning Experience
only.

Why: Here’s why you’ll love the other enhancements to dashboards.
- Better Error Messages for “Unsupported Report Type”
- Previously, if you selected an incompatible source report for a dashboard component you saw an error message that simply read “Unsupported Report Type.” Now, a more helpful error message appears that tells you why the selected source report is incompatible. For example, if you select a joined report, you now see an error telling you that joined reports aren’t supported: “Joined reports can’t be used as source reports.”
- Refresh Dashboards After 7 Days to See Data in Lightning Dashboard Tables
- If a dashboard hasn’t been refreshed for 7 days, then Lightning dashboard tables display no data. Instead, they prompt dashboard viewers to refresh the dashboard. After refreshing the dashboard the Lightning dashboard table shows data as normal.
