Configure Named Credentials for CMS Connect JSON (Generally Available)
You can access authenticated content via CMS Connect (JSON) using
named credentials. If you used this capability in beta, it hasn’t changed, except that it’s
available by default. No need to contact Salesforce Support to activate it.
Where: This feature is available in Lightning communities, accessed through Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic. Communities are available in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions. You can authenticate only JSON connections with named credentials.
How: Before you create the CMS connection, define a named credential in your Salesforce settings. Both anonymous and named principal protocols are supported, but per-user authentication is not.

Use Community Workspaces to create the connection, and select Authenticated (1) as the connection type. Then choose the named credential (2) to use.
