Files in Lightning Communities: Promoting Productivity
We improved files in Communities with efficiency in mind. Now you can add multiple
files to libraries, take action on files from related lists and the feed, and unshare
Take Action on Files Right from the Feed
You no longer have to open a file preview to copy a link or share or download a file—you can do it right from Chatter. Your favorite file actions are available directly from the feed. You can easily download, upload a new version, and delete files from Chatter posts and comments. This feature is available in Lightning communities.
Take Action on Files from the Related List
Take quick action on your files from Files home or from a record. We’re making it easier for you to complete essential tasks so you can collaborate efficiently in your community. From the action menu in Files home, you can download, upload a new version, and delete a file. You can also create a public link to share the file with anyone inside or outside of your community. This feature is available in Lightning communities.
Share Public Links to Your Files
For users with access, sharing files just got even easier. Create a public link to a file, then distribute the URL to anyone you want. Public link sharing was already available in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Email. Now it’s available as a Files action in Lightning Experience and Communities.
Unshare a File in Communities
In Lightning Communities, you can unshare a file from a library or from a record. This feature is available in Lightning communities.
Add Multiple Files to Libraries
Make the best use of your time by adding multiple files at once! You can add up to 10 files at a time to a library, a record, or Files home.
