Updates to Libraries

Folders in libraries are now generally available, and we’ve made some updates to improve your experience using files and folders in libraries. You can now add multiple files to a library, update and delete library files, and move folders within a library. These changes apply to Lightning Experience only.

Add Multiple Files to Libraries

Make the best use of your time by adding multiple files at once! You can add up to 10 files at a time to a library, a record, or Files Home.

Files upload is now context-aware for libraries. When you select a library folder and then click Upload Files, the new files are uploaded to that library. When uploading to a library or a record, you can add up to 10 local files (1), Salesforce files (2), and files from external sources (3). When you’re in the Owned by Me, Shared with Me, Recent, and Following filters, you can add up to 10 local files, which are added to the Owned by Me filter.

When you upload multiple files, you can view the progress of individual files and cancel uploads in progress.

Update and Delete Files from Libraries and Files Home

From the files list view and file detail page, use row-level actions to edit file details or delete the file. We’re making it faster and easier to make the changes that keep your file information accurate and your libraries tidy.

Move Folders in Libraries

You can now move a library folder into another folder within the library. Create subfolders, make subfolders within subfolders, go crazy!
