Learn About Dataflow Validation Enhancements

Wave now validates your dataflows when you upload the definition files. Previously, validation on upload occurred only when you had replication enabled. Without replication, you only learned of errors when the dataflow ran. Too late!

Here's what Wave validates when you upload your dataflow.

  • Are the parameters in each node valid?
  • Are the node references valid? For example, do you have duplicate node names or circular references?
  • Does the Integration User have access to the extracted objects?

Wave alerts you if it finds errors and provides a description to help you fix them. If you don’t have replication enabled, you have the option to continue the upload with errors. Take this option if you want to fix the dataflow later, or review it in the dataflow editor. Wave doesn’t let you upload a dataflow with errors if you have replication enabled.

Note

Wave alerts you at the first error it finds and only provides details of that error, so your dataflow could contain more errors.
