Use Custom Domains for Sandboxes (Pilot)

Develop and test your Salesforce Sites and communities within your sandboxes using custom domains. This feature allows you to test new custom domains in a sandbox before deploying them to Salesforce production.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

We provide Custom Domains for Sandboxes to selected customers through a pilot program that requires agreement to specific terms and conditions. To be nominated to participate in the program, contact Salesforce. Pilot programs are subject to change, and we can’t guarantee acceptance. Custom Domains for Sandboxes isn’t generally available unless or until Salesforce announces its general availability in documentation or in press releases or public statements. We can’t guarantee general availability within any particular time frame or at all. Make your purchase decisions only on the basis of generally available products and features. You can provide feedback and suggestions for Custom Domains for sandboxes in the Custom Domains for Sandboxes Pilot group in the Trailblazer Community.

How: From Setup in production, in the Quick Find box, enter Domains, and then select Domains. Click Add to add a domain or Edit to edit an existing domain. On the Domain screen, select an HTTPS option other than the Salesforce CDN. Select your sandbox in the new Associated Org field and click Save.

To finish adding your custom domain, activate the domain and log in to the sandbox to finish updating the sandbox Sites and communities domains.
