Set Up Enhanced Email Relays

The new Email Relays page lets you configure multiple email relays and filters for recipient and sender domains for email sent through Salesforce. You can also set up authentication between the Salesforce mail servers and the configured relay host through the new Email Domain Filters Setup page. To enable these new options, we removed the Email Relay Activation page in Setup, moved all the email relay settings to a new Setup page, and added the Email Domain Filters pages.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Note

Note

Experiencing deja vu? We announced this change in Spring ’19. In Spring ’20, we activate it for all customers.

Who: These Setup changes are visible only to customers who didn't manually activate the enhanced email relay pages before Spring ’20.

When: The Email Relay Activation page is visible for several days after the release as Salesforce migrates your org to the enhanced email relay Setup pages. During this window, relay modification is disabled to preserve data integrity. If you can’t wait to update your relay settings, you can manually enable the new Email Relays and Email Domain Filter Setup pages.

How: To manually enable the enhanced pages, from Setup, enter Email Relay Activation in the Quick Find Box, and select Email Relay Activation. Select Enable Enhanced Email Relay.

Note

Note

If you don’t find Email Relay Activation in Setup, we migrated your org to the new Email Relays and Email Domain Filter Setup pages.
