Reference a Newly Created Screen Field Without Leaving the Screen Editor

Now you can build screen fields and reference them to set component visibility, validate input, or provide help for another screen field at the same time. Previously, you had to exit then reopen the screen editor to reference a newly created screen field.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

How: Suppose that you want to create a picklist screen field to ask users to select their favorite ice cream flavor. If they select Other from the picklist, a text screen field allows them to enter the flavor manually. Build both screen fields in a snap without ever having to leave the screen editor.

In the screen editor, there is a Favorite Ice Cream screen field that is referenced by the component visibility of the Other text screen field.
