Enhance Your Custom Content Types with Date, Datetime, and URL Nodes

When you create custom content types for Salesforce CMS, you can include important date, time, and time zone details and add links to other resources.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Who: To access Salesforce CMS and create content, you must be a Salesforce admin or have a contributor role in that CMS workspace.

How: Use the ManagedContentType in Metadata API to set up custom content types that include date, datetime, and URL nodes. After you create a custom content type in your org, it appears as a form for adding content in the Salesforce CMS app.

In your CMS workspace, you can add date, time, and time zone details to your custom content. Then, choose how you want to display this information to users by customizing the date formats in Experience Builder.

Note

Data nodes only allow you to display content in a date format. You can’t filter or sort content by date or time.

Similarly, you can use the URL nodes in Salesforce CMS to include links to products, articles, blog posts, and other media types in your content. In Experience Builder, you can further customize URL displays to control how your users see and interact with these links.
