Organize Email Templates with Folders and Nesting
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
Why: Organizing email templates makes them easier to find. Sales reps can use existing folders, while users with the Create Folders for Lightning Email Templates permission can also create folders.
Create a hierarchy for email templates with up to four levels of nesting. Reps can put templates for your entire company in the first level of folders, and then add folders on the next level for different departments in your company. In this example, the Special Projects folder has three subfolders: Customer Surveys, Landscaping RFPs, and Search for New HQ.
Or, a rep might want to make an email template for an event invitation available to her colleagues in a folder they can access. She also keeps a customized event follow-up email template under lock and key in a folder only she can access.
How: Enable the org permission Folders and Enhanced Sharing for Lightning Email Templates. Then give the Create Folders for Lightning Email Templates permission to users who you want to create folders.
Users who are admins or have the Modify All Data permission don’t need the Create Folders for Lightning Email Templates permission. They can already create folders.
