Don’t waste your time clicking around and updating records with the same information over and over. Use macros to update most standard and custom object records in all Lightning apps. Previously, macros worked only in console navigation apps on the case, contact, lead, and custom objects. This change applies to Lightning Experience only.
Here’s a macro that’s set up to work with accounts.
To let your users create and use macros, make sure they have the correct permissions. See Create Macros in Lightning Experience in our online help.
Macros works on all objects that allow quick actions and have a customizable page layout. However, we recommend that you don’t use macros with the following items.
- Opportunity products
- Crew Size field on the Service Crew object
- Knowledge articles
- Email message object (not to be confused with the Email action, which works fine with macros)
- Social quick action in the case feed publisher provided with Social Customer Service
