Get Event Attendee Details in the Calendar When You Sync Microsoft® Office 365® with Salesforce

You give your users enhanced meeting scheduling options when you set up events to sync between reps’ Microsoft Office 365 calendars and Salesforce. These changes apply to Lightning Experience and all versions of the Salesforce1 mobile app. These changes also require Microsoft Office 365 and Lightning Sync set up with an OAuth 2.0 connection and the sync direction Sync Both Ways.
Available to sync with: Salesforce Classic, Lightning Experience, and Salesforce1
Available to set up from: Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions

If your company uses Microsoft Office 365, when reps schedule meetings from Lightning Experience or Salesforce1, they can invite contacts, leads, and other Salesforce users to attend, and all Salesforce users can see how meeting attendees responded.

You can also set up reps to invite attendees to events that reps create from the quick actions menu.

And because giving your reps access to attendees’ details requires you to set up Lightning Sync, meetings scheduled from reps’ Microsoft calendars sync to Salesforce, too. That way, your whole team can access meeting data, where they can track or analyze it.

You and your reps have to meet these conditions to view, invite, and manage event attendees.
  • Set up your reps for Lightning Sync using OAuth 2.0 with the Sync Both Ways sync direction, so events are syncing between Salesforce and reps’ Microsoft calendars.
  • Add the Attendees field to the Event page layout.
  • Users have to create or edit the event (from which they’re viewing or editing attendees) from Lightning Experience or Salesforce1.

Keep in mind that selecting Sync Both Ways limits some Calendar functionality in Salesforce Classic. To learn more, check out “Lightning Sync Considerations” in the Salesforce Help.
