Add a Launch Pad for All Your Third-Party Apps on Your Home Pages

We added an App Launcher component to the Lightning App Builder. Now you can make all your third-party apps available from the first page that your users see. With a Home page, you can combine various components on a single page to present key information to your user in one place. But until now, you couldn’t add any third-party apps to Home pages. By adding an App Launcher component to the Home page, users can access all their third-party apps and items in a single click. This feature is new in Lightning Experience.

When you open the Lightning App Builder and select Home Page, the App Launcher appears on the list of components. Combine the App Launcher with other useful components to give your users all the tools they need directly on their home page. For example, add a notification banner, chatter feed, and task list.

The App Launcher is also now available with the Community Service (Napili) Community template. Before this release, the App Launcher was available only with the Salesforce Identity Aloha template.
