Authenticate Effortlessly to External File Sources in Salesforce

Does your org have external file sources like Google Drive enabled? If you’re not logged in, click the banner notification to sign in with one click. When you post a link to a Google Drive document in a feed post when you’re not logged in, a prompt displays immediately after you post. These prompts get you authenticated quickly right where you are so you can get on with your work. This change applies to Lightning Experience only.

Users who are set up for an external file source but aren’t logged in are prompted to get authenticated. The Connect Now link initiates the one-click login process, and authentication is quickly taken care of. The banner prompt is available for external data sources: SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Google Drive, Box, and Quip.

When an unauthenticated user pastes a Google Drive link in Chatter, they see a prompt to get connected. The link initiates the same one-click authentication that lets users get back to work with minimal interruption.

These notifications affect users with the Per User authentication setting on their external data source.
