In Salesforce Analytics, a lens is a particular view into a subset of your data. Think of it as the smallest unit of your data exploration, usually containing a single visualization resulting from a simple exploration of a dataset.
We’ve introduced lenses to the Sales Analytics prebuilt app to give you more fine-grained control over the business intelligence you can glean from your Salesforce data.
Explore Opportunities

This lens helps you get actionable insights from your opportunities data, starting with pushed opportunities. You can narrow the time period to look at pushed opportunities for a year, quarter, month, and so on. Or select a new grouping, such as by team or by opportunity owner. You can also filter by a different stage, status, product, or any other way you break down opportunities to get a more refined view of opportunities in your pipe.
Sales Stage Details

The Sales Stage Details augments the app’s Sales Stage Analysis dashboard by showing where specific deals stand in the sales process. The dashboard shows numbers of deals in each stage without breaking out individual deals. Select a bubble in the chart, then click the drill-down button that appears at top right to learn the specifics about a deal, such as its forecast category, stage, owner, and age.
Historical Pipeline By Stage

This lens augments the Team Trending
dashboard with detail about the pipeline for the past six months broken out by sales stage. This
lens is read only; you can only explore its data further by editing queries with SAQL. To do
that, click the SAQL mode button at
upper right.
Historical Pipeline By Forecast

This lens augments the Team Trending dashboard with detail about the pipeline for the past six
months broken out by forecast status. This lens is read only; you can only explore its data
further by editing queries with SAQL. To do that, click the SAQL mode button at
upper right.
