Rename Your Apex Symbols in Visual Studio Code

Salesforce Extensions for VS Code now includes the Apex Refactor: Rename feature. Use this tool to rename methods, local variables, fields, properties, constructors, or types (classes, triggers, or enums). When you rename a symbol, code that references the symbol is updated. When you rename outer types or their constructors, we rename their files.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic, and all versions of the Salesforce app in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

When: Apex Refactor: Rename is generally available as of February 9, 2019.

How: For information about Apex Refactor: Rename, see the Apex extension’s page in the Visual Studio Marketplace.
