Salesforce CLI: New and Changed Commands

We release changes to Salesforce CLI regularly. Read the weekly release notes to learn about recent updates for v44 of the core CLI plug-ins. For more information about the pre-release version, see v45 of the Salesforce CLI Command Reference.

New commands and parameters for Lightning web components are available in salesforcedx v45. To try out Lightning Web Components, install the pre-release version. For more information about the pre-release version, see v45 of the Salesforce CLI Command Reference.

New Commands

This new command was added in a weekly release of salesforcedx v44 (version 44.4).

force:mdapi:deploy:cancel
Cancel an in-progress metadata deployment.

Deprecated Commands

These commands, which were previously marked as deprecated, were removed in weekly releases of salesforcedx v44 (v44.3.0 or later).

New Parameters

This parameter is new in the pre-release of v45.
force:lightning:component:create --type
Specifies whether to create an Aura component (--type aura, the default) or a Lightning web component (--type lwc).
These parameters were added in weekly releases of salesforcedx v44 (v44.3.0 or later).
force:mdapi:deploy --validatedeployrequestid | -q
Deploy a recently validated set of components without running Apex tests.
force:package:install --securitytype | -s
Indicate access to an installed package. By default, installed packages are accessible to all user profiles. You can restrict access to the admin profile and any profile with the Customize Application permission.
force:package:install --upgradetype | -t
For package upgrades, specifies whether to mark all removed components as deprecated (DeprecateOnly) or to delete removed components that can be safely deleted and deprecate the others (Mixed, the default).

Changed Parameters

These parameters have changed in weekly releases of salesforcedx v44 (v44.3.0 or later).

force:package:install --package | -p
Added the short name -p.
force:package:install --publishwait | -b
Added the short name -b.

Deprecated Parameters

These parameters, which were previously marked as deprecated, were removed in weekly releases of salesforcedx v44 (v44.3.0 or later).
