Reuse Your Guided Action List Settings in a Deployment

Practice sustainable deployments by recycling the settings in your Guided Action List component. When you capture Guided Action List settings in a Setup deployment, you can reuse it on multiple record pages. To save more time and effort, package your deployment and reuse it in other orgs.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

How: If you already display the Guided Action List component on record pages, you can use a one-time update to transition existing component settings to a Guided Action deployment. Then use Setup to create a deployment or to modify an existing one. You can point and click to set up deployments, or we implemented keyboard controls for accessibility.

From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Guided Actions. Click New Deployment, and name your deployment. Select which actions are available for users to add when needed. Select actions available for users to add at runtime.

For each channel, select actions to show as defaults. Mark which actions are removable and which are mandatory. Previously, you could only define mandatory actions in Process Builder. Users see a reminder when they try to close a mandatory action without completing it.Select default channel settings.

In Lightning App Builder, drag the Guided Action List component to the record page, and select the deployment in the component properties. Reuse the deployment and its settings on multiple record pages.Select the deployment in component properties.

You can use packaging to capture Guided Action Lists and deployments. When you package a record page with a Guided Action List, the package captures the components, the deployment settings, and all processes and flows associated with the record in RecordActions. Before you create a package with a Guided Action deployment, make sure that it references active flows.

Note

Note

If you created a package in a previous release that includes Guided Action Lists, activate the update to convert settings in your org. Then update your package so that it includes your Guided Action deployments.
